Grand Junction, Colorado | October 9–11, 2025
Despite a few days of rain, the weather didn’t dampen the spirits of Hawley family members who gathered in the heart of the world, Grand Junction, Colorado, for the 2025 Hawley Family Reunion. Nestled where the Gunnison and Colorado Rivers meet, Grand Junction is known for its striking red rock mesas and sweeping views toward the Rocky Mountains.
Festivities began Thursday evening with a welcome gathering at Moody’s Lounge, followed by two days of sightseeing, camaraderie, and shared family history. Friday’s highlights included a guided bus tour of the magnificent Colorado National Monument, often called a “miniature Grand Canyon,” where towering monoliths and deep canyons reveal millions of years of geologic history. The group also enjoyed the Museum of the West, exploring the area’s frontier past before gathering for dinner at Feisty Pint.

Saturday morning featured the Society’s Annual Meeting at Moody’s Lounge. The agenda included a presentation by Society President Serena Williams, a DNA surname project report by Trudy Hawley, and additional financial and website updates from Ted Ericson, Treasurer, and Pam Marlin, Webmaster. Members also elected new officers, welcoming Ryan Hawley as Vice President and Kathy Nelson as Secretary. A complimentary luncheon followed, and the evening concluded with a lively dinner at Rockslide Brewpub in downtown Grand Junction.
The Society looks forward to gathering again next year for the 2026 Reunion in New Haven, Connecticut, hosted by Vice President Ryan Hawley.
